Beginning in the early 1990’s, the leadership of the Joliet Fire Department realized that there was a need within the Joliet Community for the fire department to handle more than just fires and emergency medical calls. You see, when a citizen has something happen to them, and they don’t know who to call, they call the Fire Department. The members of the Joliet Fire Department organized themselves into groups, and obtained the needed equipment and training in order to handle a wide range of emergency calls in a timely and professional manner.
