Team Members | Training | 2008 Budget Needs
The Joliet Fire Department Special Operations Medic Team accompanies the JPD Special Operations Squad ( SOS ), and Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) at all high risk incidents. These incidents include high risk warrants, hostage situations, barricaded gunmen, terrorist activities, and any training through out the year. Through our partnership with the JPD teams, it is a courtesy to provide these highly trained operators with the finest paramedics in the EMS system. The actual number of times the medic team was used this year was down from years past. There is no doubt that it was because of the great job the JPD SOS and SWAT teams are doing. We do accompany the teams to monthly training, in which a different topic is covered.
